Pricing and Quotes
Is the call-out really free?
Yes, the call-out itself is $0, whether the job turns out to be quick or takes a bit longer to sort. You only pay for work you've agreed to, and getting a licensed plumber to look at the problem first never costs you anything.
Do you charge for travel time?
No, travel is already built into the $0 call-out fee, wherever in Lewisham you're calling from. There's no separate mileage charge, no clock ticking before we've even started the job.
Do you price jobs individually or off a rate card?
Every job is priced on what it actually needs, not pulled from a flat rate card. A plumber looks at the problem, explains what's involved, and agrees a price with you on the spot, before any work starts.
Can I get a written quote before you start?
Yes, once we've looked at the job, you'll get a clear price before any work begins, not a verbal guess you have to remember later. If anything changes once we're into the job, we'll stop, explain what's changed, and get your go-ahead before doing more.

The Legal Side of Emergency Plumbing
Are your plumbers employees or subcontractors?
Every plumber who attends a job is a licensed tradesperson working under our name, not a random subcontractor pulled in for the day. That's how we keep the standard consistent, call to call.
Can I check your licence myself?
Yes. Our NSW Plumbing Licence #292427C can be checked on the NSW Fair Trading licence register any time, so you're never just taking our word for it.
Are you insured if something goes wrong during the job?
Yes. We're licensed and insured, water and gas, so if something unexpected happens during a job, it's covered, not left for you to sort out.
What qualifications does a licensed plumber actually need in NSW?
To be licensed in NSW, a plumber has to have finished a recognised trade qualification and carry a current individual licence of their own, separate from whatever licence the business holds. Gas fitting sits under its own endorsement again, which is why we keep both water and gas covered in-house.

Booking and Availability
Do you charge more to come out faster?
No, the $0 call-out fee is the same whether it's the middle of the afternoon or the middle of the night. We don't run a surge-pricing model, so calling doesn't cost more just because the timing is inconvenient.
Will a real person answer, or a machine?
A real person answers, not a call centre, any time you call. Whoever picks up can hear out what's going on and get a plumber moving, no automated menus to sit through first.
Can I book ahead instead of calling as an emergency?
Yes, if it's not urgent, you can book a time that suits you rather than treating it as a callout. If it turns out to be more pressing once we're looking at it, we'll say so plainly rather than let it wait.
How do you decide which emergency call gets priority?
Genuine emergencies, like a burst pipe or a gas smell, are treated as urgent every time. Where two urgent calls land close together, whoever is actively flooding or unsafe gets seen first, and everyone else is kept informed rather than left wondering.

Local Knowledge, Local Answers
Is Lewisham within your regular coverage area?
Yes, Lewisham is on our regular run, past St Thomas Becket's on Thomas Street and right along to Petersham, Dulwich Hill, Summer Hill, Stanmore and Marrickville. We're out this way often, not just called in when something's already gone wrong.
Are Lewisham homes near the water more prone to corrosion issues?
Lewisham isn't a harbourside suburb, so salt air isn't really the driver here. The bigger factor is age: plenty of homes date to the Federation era, and older galvanised and earthenware pipework doesn't hold up as well as newer materials.
Do you service both older and newer parts of Lewisham?
Yes, Lewisham mixes Federation-era terraces with newer apartments near the light rail, and we treat both the same way. Older homes tend to need more pipe replacement, while newer builds bring their own strata-related plumbing quirks.
Does heavy rain cause extra problems in Lewisham?
Heavy rain combined with autumn leaf fall from Lewisham's mature street trees is a common mix, and gutters and stormwater drains clog fast when both hit together. We tend to see a seasonal jump in blocked-drain callouts because of it.
